About Course

The Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) is a certification offered by the Project Management Institute (PMI), a globally recognized organization in the field of project management. CAPM is an entry-level certification designed for individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in project management or who want to gain a foundational understanding of project management concepts and practices.

Here are some key points about the CAPM certification:

  1. Eligibility Requirements: To be eligible for the CAPM certification, candidates typically need to meet specific educational requirements. As of my last update in September 2021, the requirements were one of the following:
    • A secondary degree (high school diploma, associate’s degree, or equivalent) and at least 23 hours of project management education.
    • OR, a secondary degree and a minimum of 1,500 hours of project management experience.
    • PMI’s requirements may change, so it’s important to check the most recent eligibility criteria on the PMI website.
  2. CAPM Exam: The CAPM certification exam is a multiple-choice test that assesses a candidate’s knowledge of project management principles and terminology. The exam covers areas such as project management processes, integration, scope, time, cost, quality, risk, procurement, and stakeholder management.
  3. Study Materials: PMI provides study materials and resources to help candidates prepare for the CAPM exam. These materials may include the “CAPM Exam Prep” book, practice exams, and online courses.
  4. Renewal: CAPM certification is valid for five years. To maintain the certification, individuals must retake the CAPM exam or obtain the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification before the CAPM expires.
  5. Benefits: CAPM certification can be valuable for individuals who are new to project management or want to demonstrate their commitment to a career in the field. It can also help candidates stand out to potential employers and gain a foundational understanding of project management best practices.
  6. PMI Membership: While not required for CAPM certification, becoming a member of PMI can offer additional benefits, including access to PMI’s project management resources, networking opportunities, and discounts on certification exams and study materials.
